College Comprehensive Growth Series
The Sophomore Psychology students had their last Comprehensive Growth Series (CGS) last August 12 – 13, 2014 at THE FARM, Barrio Manalo, Dasmari?as, Cavite. The CGS is a reflection type of instruction which is part of the Institutional Course (IC3) – Values Development. The overnight activity aims to provide activities for profound reflection and discernment of their personal values. It also manifests discovery and learning strategies necessary to nurture and further develop their values personally and as a group.
The CGS served as an instrument to decompress the students’ minds and bodies from a stressful academic life. It also bonded of the students personally and emotionally. They were given time to know and hear stories of their blockmates in order for full-realization to build up. The CGS offered mainly a lot of physical activities that tend to enliven their consciousness and understanding of both their moral and institutional values. It is a significant event in college life to finally get a break and pass from school works to be done within the semester.
The Retreat facilitator, Sir Darwin, shared a lot of words of wisdom for the students to apply in their everyday lives. The Deans, Sir Ruel Cajili of Psychology and Dr. Gina Caneo of SpEd gave their full support to the students. Overall, the CGS was very exciting and meaningful.
